D form Civil were engaged by BEON as part of the a series of upgrades to the existing United Energy Zone Substation in Hastings. The station upgrades included the addition of a 66kV feed to the nearby Esso Terminal and the replacement of the existing Control Room. 

D Form Civil completed the extension of the existing 66kV & 22kV Switchyards, construction of approx. 30 foundations, installation of new conduits and pulling pits, stormwater drainage and final surfacing. Upon completion of the new Control Room installation works, the existing Control Room was demolished which involved the removal of and disposal of existing asbestos cladding.

Due to unseasonable weather during the construction period, the site team overcame poor subgrade conditions in order to ensure the project maintained the critical project timelines.
