D From Civil won the contract to construct the feature wall as part of the Deakin University Campus Infrastructure upgrade, by longstanding client, MCS Concreting.

Challenges in the delivery of the project included the environmental risks that wind imposes when working at heights. D Form implemented precise planning and coordination in the initial stages of works to mitigate these risks on the ground at construction stage and allowed us to pre-empt a variety of bracing options. Moreover, it gave us the foresight to integrate PERI as a formwork system.

Our team showcased strong cooperation and collaboration both internally and, on the ground, when delivering this project.

The key success factor behind this project was precise planning and coordination. The sharp timeframe on completion and the rural geographical location posed some challenges on sourcing local materials and resources. Strong winds were also often a daily challenge for both manual handling and cranage operations. 

Our team exhibited strong co-operation with the client and other contractors on site when delivering the project.
